Air conditioning

Air conditioner not cooling

If the unit starts but does not cool enough, the cause can be simple, such as dirty filters or wrong settings, but it can also indicate refrigerant, compressor or outdoor unit problems.

Simple checks

  • mode is set to cooling, not fan or dry;
  • target temperature is below room temperature;
  • indoor filters are not clogged with dust;
  • outdoor unit has enough ventilation space;
  • remote control has no active timer.

Signs inspection is needed

  • air is only slightly cool;
  • outdoor unit does not start or stops quickly;
  • ice appears on pipes or unit;
  • unusual noises appear;
  • the issue returns after filter cleaning.

Useful details

Send photos of the indoor unit, outdoor unit, refrigerant pipes and equipment label. If possible, mention brand, model and last maintenance date.
