Air conditioner remote not working
If the unit does not respond to the remote, the cause may be simple, but it can also indicate a receiver or indoor board issue.
Possible causes
- empty batteries or reversed polarity
- remote locked in a special mode
- dirty or covered IR sensor
- faulty indoor unit receiver
- electronic board without proper supply
Simple checks
- replace batteries
- check whether remote display works correctly
- try the manual button on unit, if present
- send photo of remote and indoor unit
Service
If the unit starts manually, the problem may be the remote or receiver. If it does not start at all, inspection should be extended.
