Water supply

Booster pump starts often

A booster pump that starts very often can have leaks, incorrect pressure in tank or pressure switch issues. Frequent starts can wear the pump.

Possible causes

  • missing air cushion in tank;
  • broken tank membrane;
  • incorrect pressure switch setting;
  • faulty check valve;
  • leak in installation or dripping tap.

What to observe

  • starts without visible consumption;
  • pressure rises and drops quickly;
  • pump starts on every small tap opening;
  • vibrations or unusual noises appear.

Useful photos

Send photos of the pump, tank, pressure switch, pressure gauge and pipe area. If there are leaks, photograph the affected point.
