Drain or sewer blocked
A blocked drain can be local at a siphon or can indicate a problem on the sewer line. Backflow is a sign that service should not be delayed.
Common signs
- water drains slowly;
- gurgling sounds in siphon;
- bad smell appears;
- water flows back in shower, tub or floor drain;
- problem returns after simple cleaning.
What not to do
- do not mix different chemicals;
- do not force rigid objects into pipes;
- do not disassemble if water cannot be stopped;
- do not ignore repeated backflow.
