Plumbing

Low water pressure

Low pressure can appear at one faucet, one bathroom, the whole house or only on hot water. This difference helps identify the cause.

Possible causes

  • clogged aerator or filter;
  • partially closed valve;
  • faulty or incorrectly adjusted pressure reducer;
  • leak in the installation;
  • booster pump or street supply issue.

What to observe

  • cold water, hot water or both affected;
  • one faucet or all points affected;
  • pressure varies during the day;
  • noises, vibrations or visible leaks.
