Radiator leaking

A radiator leak can drop boiler pressure and damage finishes if not handled in time.

Possible causes

  • loose or faulty air vent
  • flow/return valve leaking
  • old fitting or gasket
  • loose side plug
  • perforated or corroded radiator body

What you can do

  • place a container under a small leak
  • close radiator valves if possible without forcing them
  • photograph the exact leaking point
  • note whether boiler pressure drops

Service

Depending on leak point, repair may require tightening, gasket, new valve or radiator replacement.
