Photovoltaics
Solar panels produce less than expected
Low production may be normal in certain conditions, but it can also indicate a panel, string, inverter or monitoring issue.

Possible causes
- partial shading on panels
- dirty or covered panels
- disconnected string or tripped DC protection
- grid limitation or inverter setting
- unfavorable orientation/tilt
What to send
- screenshot from monitoring app
- photos of inverter and displayed codes
- photos of panels if visually accessible
- expected production compared to observed
- date and time when issue was observed
Inspection
Analysis is correlated with weather, time, orientation, inverter configuration and production history.
